A "pixelpusher" is an industry slang term for "designer". It's not exactly a nice term and designers can be a sensitive bunch, so it's probably best if you don't use it around them.

But in case you couldn't already tell, we're not like other designers. We love being Pixelpushers.

The studio was founded by Creative Director, Jon Racinskas, while serving as the Director of Marketing and Creative Services at the Better Business Bureau in Austin. After years of working in agencies and in-house, Jon was desperate for an opportunity to take on more interesting projects.

One day, a representative for a global brand reached out. They were looking for a sort of "skunkworks" studio to take on some of their more off-the-wall ideas. Jon jumped at the chance. He gathered together some friends who were the best in their respective creative disciplines and decided to name the group after the thing they all had in common -- they were pixelpushers.

So, that's how this motley crew of makers, designers, strategists, and filmmakers all came to be in the same Slack channel.
